Overstuffed by the Pound
Pastrami and corned beef piled high and hand-carved to order, stacked the way a real deli sandwich should be.

A real-deal Jewish delicatessen on Ogden Avenue in Lisle: hand-piled pastrami on hand-cut rye and matzo ball soup that warms you to the bone. Old-school, generous, and unapologetically delicious.

Pastrami and corned beef piled high and hand-carved to order, stacked the way a real deli sandwich should be.
Golden matzo ball soup simmered slow, with a pillowy matzo ball and rich chicken broth in every bowl.
Hand-cut rye, fresh bagels, and house favorites prepped daily so every sandwich tastes the way it ought to.
Deli platters, sandwich trays, and party spreads built to feed the whole crew, ready for pickup when you are.

Founded in 2004 by a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, Schmaltz Delicatessen is built on the simple idea that a sandwich should be overstuffed, the rye should be hand-cut, and the soup should taste like someone's grandmother made it. We carve our pastrami and corned beef to order, pile it high, and send you home full and happy.
From a steaming bowl of matzo ball soup to bagels and lox in the morning and a black & white cookie on the way out, we keep the classics generous and unapologetically delicious. Need to feed a crowd? Our catering and party trays bring the whole deli spread to your table, ready for pickup.
From the counter to the cutting board, here's a taste of what's on the table.
